Fasting is a gentle and safe detoxification approach. Its duration is subjected to individual coping ability. Some can do it with multiple short intervals while some can prolong its duration.
Once you have made up your mind, please notify your family members or surroundings about your will start to having a fasting! Welcome them to supervise your progress.
Remember: Be strong belief to this program. If suspicious arise at the first place, results will be affected. Belief comes with recognition and understanding of fasting.
Once you have the trust, you will be faithful and directed to positive results as mind over the body.
Do keep in mind that prior fasting, food intake reduction at slow pace is necessary.
Food intake must be reduced gradually until no solid food at the starting of the fasting day. Why this is important?
Therefore, it is necessary to strictly follow the reducing food intake pace to minimize the adverse impact. Some people may have the thought of going for a big feast before the fasting. However, because of much of extra food, they suffer from greater pain during the fasting.
In conclusion, reduction in food intake is an essential step prior fasting. This duration varies between individual.
In fact, the longer duration of the food reduction, the better the result will be. Some general illness may be benefited even during food reduction stage. For an unwell person, the longer duration of the food reduction, the lesser the adverse reaction will be during fasting. In summary, the effectiveness relies on the duration of food reduction.
The food contents shall follow these orders: From ordinary food to plain (less oil less sugar less salt) food, and from solid form to liquid form.
A 3-day plan on food intake reduction as an example. The proposed meals are as follow:
(Remark: for 1 day food intake reduction plan, reduce the breakfast intake to 70%, lunch intake to 50% and dinner intake to 30%.)
1st day: Reduce meat or go for vege diet, reduce the meal quantity to 70%.
2nd day: On vegetarian food, semi-solid form, take only vegetables, fruits or porridge, reduce meal quantity to 50%.
3rd day: On vegetarian food, semi-Liquid form, take only fruits (less fiber such as: papaya, honey melon, apples, water melon etc.), mash vegetables soup or porridge, reduce quantity to 30%.
Below is a diet guideline for food reduction stage:
Breakfast: Clear porridge or fruits (e.g. apple, pear, water melon and papaya)
Lunch: Porridge or rice (30%) with vegetables (70%). Vegetables such as carrot, beet roots, potato, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, kale, celery. No oil, sugar, seasoning, additives. May add some sea salt, garlic, ginger, coriander to enhance the taste.
Dinner: Plain vegetable soup. Just drink the soup and do not eat the vegetables.
For first timer, a 1 day DrJuice fasting is recommended as a warm up. At 2nd day (break-fast), you can restore normal diet up to 80% fullness. Once familiar to this program, you can go for a 3-day program. For sub-health group, a 7-day program is highly recommended for more thorough toxin cleansing. Of course, the fasting duration subject to individual body composition or health condition. If you have difficulty to determine the fasting duration, please consult professions.

During DrJuice Fasting, the body will react accordingly. That is because DrJuice fasting promotes better metabolism, improves digestive system function and improve bowel movement for better waste excretion. Some people may even experience farting, sweating, frequent urination or dark color urine. These are good signs and as evidence of detox process. Yet, some people may have pimples, eczema, empty stomach feeling, and bloating. Reverse reaction also known as “healing crisis” in Chinese Traditional Medical field. Generally, such healing crisis will go away by itself gradually.
The purpose of DrJuice Fasting is to rebuild oneself. However, the actual rebuilding works only commence after break fast stage. In short, the success of the fasting, rely much on the break fast stage. And, the biggest challenge during this stage subject to our appetite desire.
The diet guide during the break fast stage:
The duration of the break fast stage should be at least 1/3 of the fasting duration. It is best to maintain same duration for the break fast and the fasting (ie. A 3-day fasting, have a 3-day break fast too). The duration of break fast can be separated into 3 intervals. For example, a 3-day break fast period goes by 1/1/1 day intervals. The objective of the 3 intervals are to allow gradual adjustment from diluted food to concentrated food, with gradual increase in food portion and slowly increase the varieties, until back to normal diet.
The food intake shall similar the diet intake before fasting, as fluid base, mainly juice or soup. Moderate miso is allowed; the volume and concentration can be increased gradually over the days, but don’t overdose.
Commence with semi fluid such as millet, pumpkin, red dates, longan porridge, brown rice porridge, vegetable soups, etc.
Can go for plain and solid food, such as water cook vegetables (can add a bit of oil), potatoes, etc. However, it is still not advisable to revert back to the ordinary daily oily, salty, and spicy diets. The types of intake must follow the principle from diluted to concentrated, from small portion to bigger, to avoid the stomach and colon being damaged caused by mismanage break fast.
*Remark: for 1-day fasting, 1-day break fast is sufficient. The 1-day diet plan can be similar to the above 3 stages: stage 1 as breakfast, stage 2 as lunch, and stage 3 as dinner.

For those who do not follow the pre- DrJuice Fasting properly, you may experience hunger at the 1st or 2nd day. Anyway, only recommended juice is allowed during fasting, this is to preserve its effectiveness.
At the 2nd or 3rd day, as the hunger goes away, the emotion will be calmer and mind will be fresher. Five senses (smell, hearing, sight, touch and taste) will gradually be empowered, and body weight reduces gradually, you will look fresher and more energetic. However, such symptoms subject to individual body composition and mentality. The following symptoms may appear:
The duration of the symptoms above is subjected to individual condition. Yet, these are normal and inevitable phenomena of a detox process. No matter how long it lasts, be patient and endure for a better tomorrow. As the saying goes, clear sky comes after storm, endure a moment of hardness to overcome worry of tomorrows.
